Since we have mentioned clothing, it is worth reminding you about footwear too, as it is one of the most important parts of a hiker's gear.
When choosing footwear, be sure to consider the season and the terrain covered by the route. In addition, hiking footwear should meet several requirements. It should be:
- durable, so it does not come apart or come unglued during the hike;
- water-resistant, to protect your health;
- comfortable and broken in;
- equipped with a rubber toe cap, a non-slip sole, and ankle support to protect you from injuries.
